Booth pick in a partner's checkout
Let a partner that runs your exhibitor checkout show your floor plan in it, so exhibitors pick a booth there.
If a partner runs your exhibitor checkout on its own site, it can show your floor plan inside that checkout so exhibitors pick a booth there. When an exhibitor picks an open booth, it's sent to the partner's system, which completes the sale. The booth isn't held or assigned.
Turn it on
Partner booth pick is turned on for your organization on request. Once it's on, an owner of your organization sets it up on the API keys page, in the Partner booth pick section:
- Under Partner domains, enter your partner's site, such as
eventhub.net, one per line, and select Save domains. Picks are only ever sent to these. - Select Generate key. Copy the key and give it to your partner for its server, which checks every pick with it.
The key is shown only once. Afterwards the section shows only its last four characters and when it was created. If the key is lost, or you want to change it, select Regenerate key: the old key stops working at once, and your partner's server rejects picks until it has the new one.
The page your partner shows
Each show has a booth pick page at /shows/<your show>/booth-pick. Your partner puts it in its checkout and adds these to the address:
- Map_ID (optional): which of your maps to open, using the map ID from your previous platform. Without it, your first map opens.
- domain (optional): which of the partner's sites to send the pick to. It must be one of your partner domains; without it, the first one is used.
- Any other values, such as the partner's own registration ID. They are sent back to the partner with the pick.
The floor plan must be published.
What exhibitors see
Exhibitors see your floor plan with the booths they can pick highlighted: open, for sale and with no exhibitor on them. Booths that already have an exhibitor show that exhibitor's logo, as on your published floor plan.
They click a booth, then select Select booth to confirm. The booth is checked again to make sure it's still open, then sent to the partner with its number and price. The exhibitor sees Booth 412 selected and carries on with the partner's checkout.
If the booth was taken in the meantime, they are asked to refresh and pick another. If the partner's system can't be reached, they see an error and can try again.
If your show moved from your previous platform
The partner's system receives picks in the same format as on your previous platform, so its code needs no change. Two things do change: your partner uses the booth pick page above, and its server uses the key you generate here instead of the one from your previous platform.
