Onsite check-in

Set up scan sessions, give staff scan access, and choose scanner app settings.

If your show includes Onsite check-in, your staff scan badges at the door and at sessions with the Map D scanner app. You set it up under Ticketing > Onsite check-in in the show sidebar.

Sessions & access

A scan session is one place or time you scan badges, such as "Main entrance" or "Keynote hall".

  1. Create a session

Select New session and name it.
  2. Choose which tickets it admits

Under Permitted, pick the ticket types that can be scanned into this session. Badges without one of them are refused.

  3. Assign staff

Select Add staff to choose who scans here. Mark a session as Default for a staff member to open the scanner app straight onto it.

Changes reach the scanner app the next time it syncs. Retire a session you no longer need; its scan history is kept.

Your package includes a set number of sessions. If you need more, talk to your Map D account manager.

Staff

Select Grant scan access and search for a person in your show, or enter a name and email. The Staff tab lists everyone who can scan, the sessions they cover, their default session and their last scan.

  • Copy assignments gives one person the same sessions as another.
  • Revoke scan access removes someone.

App settings

Show-wide defaults every scanner device picks up. A device can override them locally.
